Artist Information

Sue Cavanaugh

Sue Cavanaugh uses cloth, dye, paint, wire, and fencing to create 2-d, 3-d and installation works. She’s recently added relief printing and painting to her repertoire. Her initial art foray was in art quilts and stitch resist shibori, awarded Best of Show at a shibori exhibit, Textile Center, Minneapolis; the Lynn Goodman Borgman Award at Quilt National; and Visions exhibits at Oceanside Museum of Art and San Diego. Her 2017 book of political satire cartoons is in the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum at Ohio State. Cavanaugh received a GCAC Individual Artist Fellowship in 2016 and a Dresden residency in 2012. This artist was awarded an Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award for FY 2019.”
Her work is in the collections of the Hilton Columbus Downtown, the Ohio Arts Council and private collections throughout the U.S. She is represented by (not) Sheep Art Gallery and Muse Gallery, Columbus.
